Birth Records is a project I conceived to listen to more music that I had never heard before. Originally, I started out trying to dive into a band's discography if I liked their singles, but hadn't listened beyond that. I enjoyed diving into the deep cuts of bands like Violent Femmes and artists like Peter Gabriel. But it felt a bit scattershot. I needed to narrow the focus. Then I decided that it would be fun to listen to an album a week from the year that I was born. And thus, Birth Records... was born!
